Asikin Hasan

Asikin studied sculpture at the Visual Arts Department of the Bandung Institute of Technology.  He worked as a reporter for the news magazine TEMPO covering West Java. His articles on visual art have appeared in a number of journals, magazines, and newspapers including “Art and Asia Pacific”, a journal of the visual arts published in Sydney, Australia.
In 1997, Asikin has the opportunity to study at a variety of museums including: The Pushkin Museum, Moscow, The Hermitage, St. Petersburg, Russia, as well as a number of museums in Paris. In 1998, he participated in a curator workshop in Tokyo, Fukuoka, Hiroshima and Kyoto sponsored by The Japan Foundation.  He has edited two books, Dua Seni Rupa and Sepilihan Tulisan Sanento Yuliman. Asikin also curated the project “TRANSIT” New Media, in Townsville, Brisbane, Darwin, Australia.
